This makes my blood boil, so I will refrain from more comments in this state, here are the facts.

A new study estimates the pandemic could cause over 400,000 deaths in the U.S. this year. It includes those who died of COVID-19 and people who died due to disruptions caused by the pandemic, NPR reports.
Just more fill-up for their FearPornHub, I thought. At first I couldn’t care about any more of this type of inane drivel, knowing the virus hasn’t been isolated and purified as per Koch’s postulates, they have no tests for Covid, thus they can’t to come up with any statistics, so it’s all just marketing mambo-jumbo to cover for The Great Reset and The Fourth Industrial Revolution, their official names for Covidiocracy.
BUT
One sequence made my red light blink. On review, it blew up my BS detectors:

ALCA: So why the discrepancy between the numbers they’re getting and the numbers that are being reported? Well, they think there are two reasons. Woolf says one of the reasons is that some people just aren’t having COVID-19 listed on their death certificates.
STEVEN WOOLF: The second is people who do not have COVID-19 but die because of disruptions caused by the pandemic. So an example would be somebody has chest pain. They’re scared to call 911 because they don’t want to get the virus, and they die of a heart attack.
CHANG: OK, but that’s not the same as dying from COVID-19.
PALCA: No, but if you’re trying to estimate the burden of the pandemic on American health and the nation’s health, then it’s certainly reasonable to count those kinds of deaths as related to – as blaming them on the pandemic.

So now, let’s say if I return to hunger-strike to protest their lies and literal terrorism, and if I die as a result of the protest, then I end up on their list and they will use me to sell more Covidiocracy.
This kinda leaves me no choice other than to make sure I die AFTER I eliminated Covidiocracy.

Below you have the full transcript of the NPR report:

AILSA CHANG, HOST:

The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in this country could top 400,000 by the end of the year. That’s according to a study out today in the medical journal JAMA. Four hundred thousand is about the number of Americans who died in World War II. Joining me now to talk about how researchers came up with this number is NPR science correspondent Joe Palca. Hey, Joe.

JOE PALCA, BYLINE: Hi, Ailsa.

CHANG: So, you know, we’ve been reporting that the number of COVID deaths is a bit more than 200,000 now. I don’t get it. Is that number actually going to double by the end of the year?

PALCA: Well, no because the study out today suggests that there’s an undercounting of deaths that could be related to COVID-19. Let me explain. So Steven Woolf is director of the Center on Society and Health at Virginia Commonwealth University, and he and his colleagues looked at deaths from all causes this year and compared those to historical death rates. And this year was higher, so they figured that the explanation is COVID-19 because that’s been the main difference in the health situation.

CHANG: Right.

PALCA: So why the discrepancy between the numbers they’re getting and the numbers that are being reported?

CHANG: OK. So I take these numbers are for the U.S. as a whole, but are there regional differences when it comes to the impact of COVID?

PALCA: Yes, there were. In fact, states like New York and Massachusetts and Connecticut that responded aggressively when they saw their excess death rates ramp up at the start of the year also saw them come back to normal historical levels in about May – so about seven or eight weeks later. But states that never brought their outbreaks under control – they still continue to see a surge in these excess deaths, suggesting that public health measures was a big part in controlling things.

CHANG: And do we have any idea whether these excess deaths, as you call them, from the pandemic are showing up in other countries?

PALCA: Yes, this is a pattern that scientists are seeing in other countries. But there’s an interesting twist. So there’s a paper also being published in JAMA that compares how the excess death rates in the United States due to the pandemic compare to death rates in other countries that were hit hard like Italy and Spain and France. And remember; these are rates, not actual numbers because these are different-sized countries.

Ezekiel Emanuel of the University of Pittsburgh is a co-author of that study. And he says at the start of the year, the excess deaths in those countries were fairly comparable with the United States. But then they started dropping down to levels closer to what they were before the pandemic. And Emanuel says that wasn’t the case in the U.S. So what those countries – so what were those countries doing that we weren’t doing?

EZEKIEL EMANUEL: They didn’t have a vaccine that we didn’t have. They didn’t have some special cocktail treatment that we didn’t have. The difference is how conscientiously did we implement public health measures – physical distancing, masks, keeping crowds small, not moving inside for social gatherings? And we performed poorly.

CHANG: So is it possible to do better at this point and improve the situation here in the U.S.?

PALCA: Yes. Both Emanuel and Steven Woolf from Virginia Commonwealth University say that implementing those measures that Emanuel was just talking about would make a big difference, and the death rate could come down significantly by the end of the year. And a vaccine will help. Although when we get the vaccine and who will be able to get it, that’s a topic for another day.

CHANG: That’s NPR’s Joe Palca. Thank you, Joe.

PALCA: You’re welcome.

We are currently discussing with a little lawyer house the possibility of suing Reuters and Facebook for defamation. It’s mainly a financial issue, we’re living in a pay/survival and pay/justice world, but we may find a way.
UPDATE: The deal we were first discussing folded, but it happened just when a better one came up. We’re very close to get legal representation and open a case against Reuters, for a starter. Stay tuned!
UPDATE 2 (12.14.2020): We’re ready to launch the legal case against Reuters, we have to surpass two big obstacles though. First, the financial struggle, and I don’t have anymore the energy to beg people and campaign for cash. But it’s still doable. The major issue is that I need to go back to an EU or Commonwealth country, it’s almost impossible to do it from Morocco, it costs much more and it takes much longer. And I can’t even leave my block without getting molested by covidiots. I’m afraid of myself more than I am afraid of them if they initiate any violence. We’ll be paying attention and take any opportunity to get this done, not enough legal precedents and public debates on this topic.

READ OUR ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
ATOMIC BOMBSHELL: Rothschilds patented Covid-19 biometric tests in 2015. And 2017.

Reuters is not just the #1 news agency in the world, providing a huge chunk of the BS you hear every day on TV and radio. Reuters is also prime fact-checker for Facebook, acting like some sort of elite Snopes.

… by “elite” I meant “lowest scum” earlier, talking about Reuters.

And since our article on the Rothschild biometric Covid tests went viral, Facebook and Reuters collaborated to suppress it, censor it, defame us and obstruct public access to highly important information.
Let’s just take every sentence from the Reuters defamation piece and perform an autopsy.

The website points to a Dutch website that shows a patent for a “System and Method for Testing for COVID-19″ (here) .
FALSE: THAT’S ON OF THREE DIFFERENT REGISTRIES WE LINK TO, AND IT’S NOT JUST “A DUTCH WEBSITE”, IS THE OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT REGISTRY, THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY IN THE FIELD. THAT DOWNPLAYING IS INTENTIONAL AND DENOTES DEFAMATION INTENTIONS.

The patent is numbered ‘US20200279585A1’ and has a “Prioriteitsdatum” (Dutch for “priority date”) of “2015-10-13”.
NAILED THIS ONE, YOU CAN COPY-PASTE, HIGH FIVE!

The article claims that the 2015 priority date is evidence that the coronavirus pandemic has been planned.
QUOTE OR IT NEVER HAPPENED. BUT IT’S NICE THAT YOU BROUGHT IT UP

We laughed at it earlier and made memes because we were indeed under heavy bans, but our article was thriving and his tripe was so representative for astroturfers or morons who believe Facebook invests hundreds of millions in fact-checkers to promote truth. 18 days later it’s almost like his twitt was the only “research” Reuters has ever performed.

But the author has conflated the terms “priority date” and “application date”.
WE NEVER THOUGHT OF IT BEFORE YOU DID.

The priority date can refer to the earliest filing date in a family of related patent applications, or to the earliest filing date of a particular feature of an invention (here) .
ACTUAL QUOTE FROM THE LINK THEY PROVIDE: “Priority date refers to the earliest filing date in a family of patent applications.”
“CAN BE” VS “IS”. DID THEY JUST ARGUE AGAINST WHAT IS WITH WHAT ASSUME IT CAN BE?! :)))))))
“FAMILY OF PATENTS APPLICATIONS” CAN ALSO BE A SERIES OF SUCCESSIVE IMPROVEMENTS OF A PATENT, AND THIS IS THE CASE HERE.

In this case, Oct. 13, 2015 is when Rothschild first made a provisional application within this family of patents.
FALSE. ALL IT TAKES IS TO ACTUALLY CLICK THOSE LINKS AND READ THE CONTENT, BUT THEY HOPE YOU DON’T. IT’S THE SAME PATENT, IN AN EARLIER STAGE.

Wham-bam, we control your world-view, m’am!

A series of regular, non-provisional patent applications were subsequently made for a “System and Method For Using, Processing, and Displaying Biometric Data” (here) .
FALSE: THEY ARE INCREMENTAL MODIFICATIONS OF THE SAME PATENTS, AS THE LINK THEY PROVIDE SHOWS AND ANYONE CAN SEE

These earlier patents are essentially the predecessors to ‘US20200279585A1’ – and as such share similar features, such as the use of biometric data (here) .
THAT’S WHAT WE SAID EXCEPT WE DIDN’T LIE AND DOWNPLAY IT CLAIMING THEY JUST “SHARE FEATURES” WHEN IT’S THE SAME THING WITH SMALL INCREMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS

However, the patent for a system that analyses biometric data to determine whether the user is suffering from COVID-19 was not applied for until May 17, 2020 (here).
FALSE, THAT IS NOT A NEW PATENT, THAT’S JUST THE LAST UPDATE TO THE ONE FILED IN 2015, WHEN THEY ADDED “COVID” TO THE NAME/SPECIFICATIONS AND DID THE FINAL TWEAKS FOR THE NEW MARKET, AS THE LINKS SHOWS

The article also claims to provide evidence of a patent for COVID-19 testing being filed for in 2017.
QUOTE OR IT NEVER HAPPENED. WHAT HAPPENED IS THIS TITLE, QUOTE:
“THIRD REGISTRATION: US, 2017 (ACTUALIZATION FROM 2015)”

It references the patent for a “System and Method for Using, Biometric, and Displaying Biometric Data” and its filing date of April 24, 2017 (here) .
FALSE. IT REFERENCES THE SAME PATENT, AT WHATEVER STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT WAS THEN. NAMES CAN CHANGE, THE CONTENT DOESN’T MUCH. AND REUTERS NEVER MENTIONS THE ACTUAL CONTENT.

As already discussed, although this patent is indeed a predecessor to ‘US20200279585A1’, it does not mention COVID-19 in any form.
OBVIOUS STRAW-MAN, WE NEVER CLAIMED IT MENTIONS COVID-19, WE SHOW THAT THE INVENTOR CLAIMS HIS 2015 INVENTION TESTS FOR COVID IN 2020.

reuters VERDICT

False. The year 2015 was when Rothschild first filed a provisional application within the family of patents. The year 2017 is the filing date of a related, but separate patent within the family.

This historical photo document that sits as cover for this article has made a few rounds of the Internet so far and it isn’t stopping. Top billionaires hold secret meeting

May 21, 2009, NBC News

In a quiet meeting closed to the news media and the public, Bill Gates, David Rockefeller Sr., Oprah Winfrey and other leading philanthropists met in New York this month to discuss ways to promote efforts to solve growing social problems in America and abroad.

Together, the philanthropists in the room have committed a total of more than $72.5 billion to charitable causes since 1996, according to Chronicle of Philanthropy tallies.

The unusual event was held May 5 at Rockefeller University and was organized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Among the high-profile participants were Ted Turner, Warren E. Buffett, George Soros and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. (All of those philanthropists have appeared at one time on The Chronicle’s ranking of America’s most-generous donors.)

Several of the people at the meeting confirmed their involvement, but declined to tell The Chronicle about what was discussed or why they gathered almost in secret.

According to a person familiar with the meeting, the wealthy philanthropists gathered to trade ideas about how to raise the level of philanthropy in the world.

According to IrishCentral.com, a Web site in New York that writes about Irish Americans and which first disclosed some of the details about the gathering, each philanthropist was given 15 minutes to talk about “how they saw the future global economic climate, the future priorities for philanthropy, and what they felt the elite group should do.”

Other people who attended included Eli Broad, a real-estate investor, Julian H. Robertson, Jr., a hedge-fund manager, and Patty Stonesifer, former chief executive of the Gates foundation.

Raul Coltor is actually quite famous among Romanians like myself, mainly for his active and fierce dissidence against the system and the local deep state. I’m very happy he managed to find a way around the judiciary muzzles put on him by the Romanian Government and he spoke out taking on the international deep state.

No journalist can sanely say he fully fact-checked the former Romanian Military Counter-Intelligence (CI) operative Raul Coltor. He worked alone in many of his missions, only he knows what he knows. However, it’s “settled science” that he is who he claims to be and did the kind of things he claims he did.
All I can vouch for is that everything he says corroborates with everything I know on the matter, which is quite a bit, being a Romania-born investigative journalist myself.
I’d love more info on some parts too, but it’s hard to ask for more now and, all in all, it’s criminal to ignore the alarm he sounded in this brand new interview we’ve been asking him for long time. Eventually, through an NGO which we very much need to thank, Civic Association “Dreptatea” (“Justice”) the international public can have now access to his intel. More to come, hopefully.
The translation is visibly altered by myself because the original one was not done by someone qualified to do it, it was the best option the Romanian whistle-blowers had available at the time and timing is key now

Very interesting turn of events: Two nights ago got my hard-drive burnt as I was uploading a video with Joe Biden being more Joe Biden than he’s ever been. So yesterday I got a new laptop and guess what I found on it?
Some files from Hunter Biden’s lost laptop.

LATEST:
Just about an hour ago, AN AUDIO RECORDING EXCLUSIVELY OBTAINED BY THE NATIONAL PULSE REVEALS HUNTER BIDEN DISCUSSING BUSINESS INVOLVEMENT WITH A “SPY CHIEF OF CHINA” AND HOW HIS BUSINESS PARTNER DEVON ARCHER NAMED HIM AND HIS FATHER AS WITNESSES IN A SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK CRIMINAL CASE.

And also this:

I will bring more light about the sources behind this soonish

As you can see below, Facebook has just confirmed we’re talking child exploitation here. And Facebook hires truth-checkers, so they must be the truth-overlords, right?

Update: Facebook also said our cover photo is breaching their child exploitation terms blah blah. As opposed to their countless thriving paedophile groups.
However, in this case, the child seems to have been exploited before, at least for work:

I haven’t fvcked-checked this, but the word is some Chinese anti-communist dissidents got pissed at the Bidens for being owned by the CCP and they leaked these files below on Chinese websites. Waiting for Politifact and USA Today to cast some light on this situation.

Until then, I’ll be publishing these files shortly, here as I go trough them. here’s a couple of trailers for now.

EXCERPTS

Disclaimer
This is a hypothetical scenario designed to illustrate the public health risk communication challenges that could potentially emerge during a naturally occurring infectious disease outbreak requiring development and distribution of novel and/or investigational drugs, vaccines, therapeutics, or other medical countermeasures.
The infectious pathogen, medical countermeasures, characters, news media excerpts, social media posts, and government agency responses described herein are entirely fictional.

POSSIBLE FUTURE IN 2025:
THE “ECHO CHAMBER” – UNBRIDLED GLOBAL ACCESS TO INFORMATION COUPLED WITH SOCIAL FRAGMENTATION AND SELF-AFFIRMING WORLDVIEWS

Scenario Purpose
The following narrative comprises a futuristic scenario that illustrates communication dilemmas concerning medical countermeasures (MCMs) that could plausibly emerge in the not-so-distant future.
Its purpose is to prompt users, both individually and in discussion with others, to imagine the dynamic and oftentimes conflicted circumstances in which communication around emergency MCM development, distribution, and uptake takes place. While engaged with a rigorous simulated health emergency, scenario readers have the opportunity to mentally “rehearse” responses while also
weighing the implications of their actions. At the same time, readers have a chance to consider what potential measures implemented in today’s environment might avert comparable communication dilemmas or classes of dilemmas in the future.

Generation Purpose
This prospective scenario was developed through a combination of inductive and deductive approaches delineated by Ogilvy and Schwartz.

Scenario Environment
In the year 2025, the world has become simultaneously more connected, yet more divided. Nearly universal access to wireless internet and new technology—including internet accessing technology (IAT): thin, flexible screens that can be temporarily attached to briefcases, backpacks, or clothing and used to stream content from the internet—has provided the means for readily sharing news and
information. However, many have chosen to self-restrict the sources they turn to for information, often electing to interact only with those with whom they agree. This trend has increasingly isolated cliques from one another, making communication across and between these groups more and more difficult.
From a government standpoint, the current administration is led by President Randall Archer, who took office in January 2025. Archer served as Vice President under President Jaclyn Bennett (2020-2024), who did not seek a second term due to health concerns. The two remain close and Bennett acts as a close confidante and unofficial advisor to President Archer. The majority of President Archer’s
senior staff, including Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Cindra Nagel, are carryovers from Bennett’s administration. At the time of the initial SPARS outbreak Nagel has served in this position for just over three years.
In regards to MCM communication more specifically, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other public health agencies have increasingly adopted a diverse range of social media technologies, including long-existing platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter, as well as emerging platforms like ZapQ, a platform that enables users to aggregate and archive selected media content from other platforms and communicate with cloud-based social groups based on common interests and current events. Federal and state public health organizations have also developed agency-specific applications and ramped up efforts to maintain and update agency websites.

Challenging their technological grip, however, are the diversity of new information and media platforms and the speed with which the social media community evolves. Moreover, while technologically savvy and capable, these agencies still lag in terms of their “multilingual” skills, cultural competence, and ability to be present on all forms of social media. Additionally, these agencies
face considerable budget constraints, which further complicate their efforts to expand their presence across the aforementioned platforms, increase social media literacy among their communication workforces, and improve public uptake of key messages.

THE SPARS OUTBREAK BEGINS
CHAPTER ONE

In mid-October 2025, three deaths were reported among members of the First Baptist Church of St. Paul, Minnesota. Two of the church members had recently returned from a missionary trip to the Philippines, where they provided relief to victims of regional floods. The third was the mother of a church member who had also traveled to the Philippines with the church group but who had been only
mildly sick himself. Based on the patients’ reported symptoms, healthcare providers initially guessed that they had died from seasonal influenza, which health officials predicted would be particularly virulent and widespread that fall. However, laboratory tests were negative for influenza. Unable to identify the causative agent, officials at the Minnesota Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory sent the patients’ clinical specimens to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where scientists confirmed that the patients did not have influenza. One CDC scientist recalled reading a recent ProMed dispatch describing the emergence of a novel coronavirus in Southeast Asia, and ran a
pancoronavirus RT-PCR test. A week later, the CDC team confirmed that the three patients were, in fact, infected with a novel coronavirus, which was dubbed the St. Paul Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SPARS-CoV, or SPARS), after the city where the first cluster of cases had been identified.

A POSSIBLE CURE
CHAPTER TWO

… By late December, public concern about SPARS in the United States was extremely high, and there was intense public pressure to identify
treatments for the disease.
At that time, no treatment or vaccine for SPARS was approved for use in humans. The antiviral Kalocivir, which was initially developed as a therapeutic for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), was one of several antiviral drugs authorized in the United States by the FDA to treat a handful of severe SPARS cases under its Expanded Access protocol. Kalocivir had shown some evidence of efficacy against other coronaviruses, and a small inventory of the drug was already a part of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) in anticipation of FDA approval, despite some concerns about potential adverse side effects. The lack of concrete information regarding potential treatments in the face of the increasingly rapid spread of SPARS prompted demands from the media, the public, and political leaders for the FDA to be more
forthcoming with information on potential treatment options.

A POTENTIAL VACCINE
CHAPTER THREE

Shortly after authorizing expanded access to Kalocivir for select patients, the FDA received reports of an animal vaccine developed by GMI, a multinational livestock conglomerate operating cattle and pig farms in, among other places, Southeast Asia. Since 2021, ranchers had been using the vaccine to prevent a SPARS-like respiratory coronavirus disease in cows and pigs in the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries. Data provided by GMI suggested that the vaccine was effective at preventing SPARS-like illnesses in cows, pigs, and other hooved mammals, but internal trials revealed several worrisome side effects, including swollen legs, severe joint pain, and encephalitis leading to seizures or death. Because any animals experiencing these side effects were immediately killed, and because animals were typically slaughtered within a year of vaccination, further information regarding the short- and long-term effects of the GMI vaccine was unavailable.
Lacking a viable alternative—and considering the potentially high morbidity and mortality associated with SPARS (at the time the case fatality rate was still considered to be 4.7%)—the United States government contacted GMI in regards to the vaccine. After laboratory tests confirmed that the coronavirus affecting livestock in Southeast Asia was closely related to SPARS-CoV, the US began an
extensive review of GMI’s animal vaccine development and testing processes. Shortly thereafter, federal health authorities awarded a contract to CynBio, a US-based pharmaceutical company, to develop a SPARS vaccine based on the GMI model. The contract included requirements for safety testing, ensuring the vaccine would be safe and effective for human use. It also provided considerable
funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and included provisions for priority review by the FDA. Additionally, HHS Secretary Nagel agreed in principle to invoke the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP Act), thereby providing liability protection for CynBio and future vaccine providers in the event that vaccine recipients experienced any adverse effects.

And so forth.
Unless we stop these psychos.

HIS EULOGY IN SPANISH TOP NEWSPAPER EL PAIS

Kary Mullis grew up throwing frogs to the sky with homemade rockets, he studied chemistry, left science for a couple of years to work in a bakery, earned a doctorate at the University of California at Berkeley in the heat of psychedelic drug fever and eventually invented, while driving his car, a technique that It marked a before and after in biology: the polymerase chain reaction, a kind of molecular photocopying that allows you to copy a small segment of DNA millions of times. Its revolutionary discovery allowed us to read the human genome, diagnose genetic disorders, identify corpses and hunt serial killers for their DNA. Mullis, born in 1944 in Lenoir (USA), eventually won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1993. He died on August 7 from pneumonia in the Californian city of Newport Beach, according to has explained his widowNancy Cosgrove, to the newspaper The Washington Post.

The same American newspaper said in 1998 that Mullis was “possibly the strangest person who has never won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry ”. In 1994, just one year after winning the prize, the researcher visited Spain to give the closing talk of the congress of the European Society for Clinical Research, in Toledo, but refused to talk about his great discovery. Instead, he decided to disseminate his theory that AIDS is not caused by a virus, but arises from exposure to many other pathogens.Mullis told in his autobiography that one night he spoke in a forest with “a bright raccoon”, perhaps “extraterrestrial”

“Mullis started laughing at his audience by commenting that he was going to Seville” where there is some kind of festival in which one gets drunk all night. ” He illustrated the principle of his intervention, cumbersome and confusing, with photographs taken by him of geometric images projected on naked women ”, The country then recounted. Mullis, a genius in his field, showed that a nobel It can be a real songwriter outside your discipline.

The French virologist Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, who discovered HIV in 1983, talked about Mullis in an interview with this newspaper Two years ago. “I have never talked with him. I refuse to talk to people who say idiocy, ”said the researcher. “Scientific data has clearly demonstrated the link between the virus and the disease. These types of statements are dangerous. There are patients who have stopped treatment because of these observations and have fallen ill. You have to stop them, because they are dangerous, ”he added.

Mullis published his autobiography, Dancing Naked in the Mind Field (“Dancing naked in the field of mind”), in 1998. In the book, the chemist tells us that one night in 1985 he met “a bright raccoon” in a forest he owned in Mendocino County, California . “Good afternoon, doctor,” the raccoon greeted him, according to Mullis’s delirious story. “To say they were aliens is a lot to say. But to qualify him as a stranger would be to underestimate him, ”reflected the Nobel winner. The discoverer of HIV, Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, described Mullis’ denial speech as “dangerous”

The polymerase chain reaction, known as PCR, changed science forever. Each cell keeps in its tiny nucleus two meters of DNA folded in an inconceivable way. There is written the operating manual of life. Until 1985, scientists needed huge amounts of DNA to be able to analyze genetic information. But, that year, Mullis conceived a new strategy. When the DNA molecule was heated, its two complementary chains – which are usually curled up like a spiral staircase – were separated. By adding the fundamental bricks of DNA, and with the help of an enzyme, each independent chain served as a template to generate the complement and give rise to a perfect photocopy of the original molecule. That way I could have millions of copies in no time. According to Mullis, he had his eureka moment while driving his car from Emeryville, where he worked at the Cetus company, to his farm in Mendocino, which he thought he saw a luminous raccoon and talkative raccoon, perhaps extraterrestrial.

The American chemist, who dedicated himself to surfing after winning the Nobel Prize, always boasted of swimming against the current. In a TED talk in 2002 Mullis recalled that the idea of PCR came to him in 20 minutes and that if he had listened to his molecular biologist friends he would have abandoned it as impossible. “If I had to seek an authority in the matter to ask if the idea would work, I would have said no,” said the chemist. That same attitude towards the scientific consensus led him to deny the existence of the AIDS virus and also that of global warming, an invention of “parasites with degrees in economics or sociology.”

Mullis always knew that he would win the Nobel. In his book Dancing Naked in the Mind Field, the chemist says that his mentor in Berkeley, Joe Neilands, warned him in 1993 that he could take the prize that same year. The old biochemist, 23 years older than Mullis, recommended that he not talk so much with the press to avoid ruining his candidacy. “Neilands told me that probably nothing was wrong because he admitted that I love surfing and women, but he thought that the (Nobel) committee could frown at the fact that I admitted to having taken LSD. Surfing, women and LSD could be too much, ”Mullis recalled in his autobiography. “We both knew I wouldn’t shut up.”
